Description
The Pōhutu Geyser is one of the main attractions at Te Puia in the Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley in Rotorua, on New Zealand's North Island.
Pōhutu is the largest active geyser in the southern hemisphere. It erupts once or twice every hour and sometimes reaches heights of 30 metres (100 feet). Pōhutu means ‘constant splashing’ in Māori.
